Recently had a little afternoon girl time with an old highschool and college friend. It was a lot of fun catching up on whats been happening in her life and her plans.
Out of the blue she remembered that while she was on a certain wedding project, the bride remarked that her wedding was bigger than mine. The bride didnt tell the directly but to a group of people nearby. I guess she also didnt know they were friends of mine.
I just have to laugh and shake my head. I guess some people are just that way. If your wedding was "bigger" than mine, then its bigger than mine. All of God's best your way. Theres no such contest.
We all need to focus on the path God has specifically made for us. No two paths are ever the same. The more we look around at others, the bigger the tendency to trip. Its that simple. Life has so many ups, downs, twists, turns and set backs. Honestly, if you have the time to look at others, maybe you just aren't doing something worthwhile.
Perhaps I have matured more than I realized. As much as we are blessed, God has opened up ways for me to be part of something bigger. I strive to be better, not just for myself, but for my family, employees and community. I am just a speck but I want to make a difference. To be where God wants me to be and do.
So I let such mundane thoughts blow with the wind. Its just a breeze, passing through.
Deuteronomy 8:2
Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self- control. Against such things there is no law.
